This is Mama Cat and Oreo. Oreo is the only known surviving member of Mama’s first litter of five kittens born earlier in 2023. Oreo has been adopted by the next door neighbor and is living a very happy life as an indoor cat.
The plan was to have Mama spayed so she didn’t have more kittens, but that didn’t work out, so Mama had another litter of five kittens about mid summer. Now Mama isn’t a very big cat, so I wonder where she fit five of them in there!! Three grey tabbies, one siamese type and one black tuxedo like her. All very cute!! Mama had them between the neighbor’s fences, so very safe to be sure, but still an odd place. Once they were discovered (the kittens were maybe about a month old at that point), a long range plan was put into action to trap Mama, finally get her spayed, trap the kittens, socialize them and find them good homes. And so began the “adventures in cat wrangling…”
